Marianne Kindergarten and Girls School (MKGS)
Our Vision:
At MKGS, we believe every child deserves equal access to quality education in a safe, secure, and joyful environment, regardless of their background.
Our mission is to empower every child with access to holistic learning, enabling them to learn, lead, and shape a brighter future to thrive academically and socially.
A Community Under Pressure
For two decades, MKGS has been a ray of hope for the marginalized farming and laboring communities of Khushpur, Faisalabad. Founded in 2006 by the Organization for Community Development (OCD), it has evolved from a small grassroots project into a fully registered, autonomous institution.
Impact at a Glance
- Established: Founded in 2006 with just 15 students, now a progressive institution for rural girls.
- Current Enrollment: Providing top-notch education to 165 students committed to achieving their dreams.
- Our Motto: “To Be a Good Citizen”—focusing on high moral values and holistic self-image.
- Expert Facilitation: Continuous capacity building for teachers to ensure modern, effective learning atmospheres.
Why MKGS Matters
MKGS is a grassroots initiative of OCD that serves children from local and adjacent villages. Since shifting to our dedicated building in 2010, we have focused on the special needs of every student, ensuring that education is not just about knowledge, but about progress and prosperity for the entire community.
Sustaining Hope through Education (SDG4)
As of early 2026, a convergence of economic and environmental crises is threatening to create a “lost generation” of girls.
The Crisis
The Reality on the Ground
Economic Squeeze
While national inflation is 5.8%, the cost of “Miscellaneous” goods like school supplies has doubled. Families are now choosing between daily bread and their daughters’ education.
Climate Trap
38% of local land is waterlogged and 14% is saline. For our farming families, crop production has plummeted by 50%, stripping away their ability to pay modest school fees.
National Emergency
With 25 million children out of school in Pakistan (10 million in Punjab alone), MKGS is the only remaining local safety net for these 165 girls.
The "Perfect Storm": Why We Need You Now – The Risk
Without immediate intervention, these girls face a return to child labor or early marriage.
Our Response: Retain & Sustain
We are launching an urgent intervention to transform this crisis into an opportunity for resilience. We have two primary objectives:
1. Direct Student Support
We aim to provide 100 of our most vulnerable students with the tools to stay in the classroom:
⦁ Full Fee Waivers: Covering all tuition for one year.
⦁ In-Kind Education Kits: Providing complete sets of books, notebooks, uniforms, and bags to remove the “hidden costs” of schooling.
2. Institutional Sustainability
To maintain quality, we must support those who deliver it:
⦁ Teacher Salary Support: Bridging the gap in salary contributions as parents struggle to pay fees.
⦁ Joyful Learning: Enhancing sports, arts, and cultural programs to keep students engaged and encouraged.
Why Trust OCD?
We are not just a service provider; we are a globally recognized institution for governance and impact.
⦁ International Honor: Recipient of the French Republic’s “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” Human Rights Award.
⦁ Governance Excellence: Certified “Gender Friendly” and recognized for superior financial management by Greenacre Associate, UK.
⦁ Proven Stability: Operating from our own dedicated building since 2006 with a team of professionals.
The Impact: From a Pen to a Hoe?
By supporting this initiative, you are preventing a girl in Khushpur and its adjoining villages from having to exchange her pen for a hoe. Your contribution is the bridge between a time of suffering and a lifetime of dignity.
